Online tools to help you get out of debt

There are several debt tools online you can use to help you get out of debt. I have tried a few of them but never followed threw not saying they are not good tools.  Just that I am the type of person that gives up to soon this is why I am still in debt I want fast results and I should know by now that just is not going to happen.

Snowball Calculator

This is the first debt tool I started using, it requires a lot of input from you, because you have to enter all your information in the snowball calculator, this includes amount you owe interest rates and so on, you decide how much money you can put toward your dept each month. Then it tells you what bills to pay how much and when you will have them paid off.

Ready for zero

I like ready for zero for a debt tool it is easy to use.  They have it set up to where you find your creditor from there list enter your user name and password from that creditor then it uploads how much you how your payment amount and when the payments are due.  You tell it how much you can pay each month and them the debt calculator gives you a date that it will be paid off, or you can put in a date and it tells you how much to pay in order for you to have bill's paid off by that date.  They have updated there site and added some new features plus now the have an app for your phone so you can keep track of your progress.

Payoff.com

I just signed up for payoff.com debt tool site not long ago so I don't know anything about it really it looks close to ready for zero in that you can link all your account this includes your checking account and set goals.  They also have payoff insights you spending snapshot and a page that tells you about ways to make some extra money.

When I come across any other debt tools I find I will also share them on here, in the mean time if anyone has found a debt tool they used and liked please share so that I can check it out.

Cutting back expenses to get out of debt

I want to talk about cutting back expenses, to help people get out of debt and how I feel about it.  Then later I will post things I am willing to cut back on.

Cancelling cable tv or internet service

On all the sites I have read about how to get out of debt they tell you to cancel your cable TV and you internet service.  This is not an option for me and I would think for most people its not.  The reason it's not an option for me to cancel these services it because of the way we live now days you have to have cable tv in order to even watch basic television that's just all there is to it, now maybe cutting back to the basic package could help save money but cancelling it no.

Turning off internet to help have extra money for paying off debt would turn us off from the world, everything is done over the computer now day's.  We pay our bills, have to have email accounts, our children need it for school, if you need anything from any company most of the time they tell you to go to their web  page to find the info. So this is another no go for saving money as far as I am concerned.

Couponing to be debt free

I know there is a lot of money to be saved for debt when it comes to coupon's, my only problem is where do you find these coupon's every site I look at has coupon's for things I don't even use.  Most are not for food and if they are I can buy an off brand and save more money.  I will be looking into this more, because I would love to only spend $30.00 and over $100.00 worth of groceries wouldn't you.  If this is possible it would be a very good way to help pay off some debt.

Riding the bus or carpooling

I read an article the other day where someone said they paid of there debt by riding the bus, they had to use a lot of gas in oder to save the kind of money riding the bus.

Again this is not something me nor my husband could do, he has to work in a different location everyday, my job is less than 2 miles away.  And I am sure for a lot of people they are not on a bus line or have people to carpool with not only that but if you have children you want a car with you at you job just in case something happens with them and you have to go get them.

In conclusion all of these suggestions that I have read about saving money to help pay off debt, does not help me trying to do any of these would be like me canceling my car insurance to save some money heck yea it would save me a bunch but as soon as I cancelled it I would end up in an accident and need it or get pulled over and not have it then I would have to pay a big fine.  Don't go an cancel you car insurance just trying to make a point here that in the long run it would hurt us instead of help us.

Tell me something good

So could someone please tell me some for real ways to save money to pay off debt other then the thing's that most people just can not do.  If you know of any please share in the comments.

FIRST STEP IN GETTING OUT OF DEBT

So I know there are a lot of sites that tell you how to get out of debt and they are all informative, but with that being said I that every situation if different and what works for me might not work for you.  That's why I would like others to share what they are doing or what they did to get out of debt.  Maybe we can take a piece of advice for a lot of different people about what is working or worked for them and but it together to come up with what will work best for us.

What I plan on doing first to get out of debt

This is not going to sound like much but I owe $160.00 for a loan I got 5yrs ago that I am going to pay off this weekend, the loan was for replacement windows and getting this last payment to them has been real hard for me I am over 30 day's late on it.  They have been surprisingly nice about it and that I am thankful for nothing like dealing with angry collectors.  Paying them off will give me $130.00 extra a month.

Getting caught up on my debt

I can't start paying off my debt until I get caught up on the bills I am behind on,  I am not that far behind so hopefully I will have this none on or around 8/15/12.  Then I am one house payment behind plus I owe the IRS around $400.00.  I will probably pay off the IRS first you don't want to mess with them guys.  Then I will get my mortgage caught up.  After that is all said and done,  I will set done with all my credit card bills and figure out which one I am going to pay off first.

That's my start for paying off debt

Well this is the start of my plan I am really looking forward to getting this ball rolling,  And behind me so that I can start helping others and do something useful with my money instead of giving it all to my creditors.

P.s
I also will have another loan paid off 9/15/12 that comes out of my paycheck so that will be around $140.00 extra a month.
